8vo ; Publisher's black cloth, boards have a two line blind stamped border, [iv], 419 leaves; 44p. , with the joint imprint of London: L. N. Fowler & Co. **Hills #1792: "In 1902 the text was endorsed by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, " this being that edition. Simms p.514. Magnani p.117. Chamberlin p.557. ** "and on the various readings of the Vatican manuscript, No. 1209 in the Vatican Library, together with illustrative and explanatory foot notes, and a copious selection of references, to the whole of which is added a valuable alphabetical appendix, by Benjamin Wilson. " In this printing the copyright notice is on page iv. The undated reprint has the notice on verso of title page.

Small 12mo; Publisher's limp black morocco, yapp edges, gilt spine title, all edges gold over red, publisher's ads. **See Hills #1792: "In 1902 the text was endorsed by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society." Simms p.514. Magnani p.117. Chamberlin p.557. ** "and on the various readings of the Vatican manuscript, No. 1209 in the Vatican Library, together with illustrative and explanatory foot notes, and a copious selection of references, to the whole of which is added a valuable alphabetical appendix, by Benjamin Wilson." Spine imprint is Bible & Tract Society while the title page is Fowler and Wells. **Date was determined by the ads listing a title not published until 1914 and the 1927(?) printing dropping the Fowler and Wells imprint. This printing does not have a copyright notice.

Appleton & Co. 1848 First American Edition Hardcover Good+; The bottom inch of the spine has been replaced with matching leather, some of the corners have a slight rounding, half inch crack, you have to look closely to see the slight damage to the boards, inner hinges strengthened with matching paper - an attractive copy.
12mo 7" - 7½" tall; Publisher's binding, papier mache under black plaster with leather blind titled spine, all edges gilt, marbeled end-papers, 32 pages richly illluminated and chromolithographed. **Ruari Mclean: "it was the first of the so-called `papier mache' bindings, contrived to look like carved ebony... the result was splendidly gothic and impressive." The first use of these materials to reproduce an antiquarian hand made binding, spine titled with unicial letters.
